If you want access to all Word 2016 features, you can convert the document to the 2016 file format. Click the File tab to access Backstage view, then locate and select the Convert command. The following manifest was approved by Microsoft and is in the Office Store as an add-in for Word 2016 called 'Annotate PRO.' The manifest should create a new ribbon named 'Annotate.' It does this correctly in Windows, Word Online (Windows and Mac, Chrome and Safari), and on some Macs. On most Macs (especially El Capitan) it does not create a Ribbon although the Add-in does work. You just have to choose it from 'My Add-ins' every time you open a document. It does not appear on many Macs. 2c77d848-f893-4938-ad5f-5ea03d3608dc 1.0.0.0 11trees en-US ReadWriteDocument Button2Id1 MyTaskPaneID1 MyTaskPaneID2. Yeah, you have to set a registry key or make sure there's a path in the 'default personal templates location.' The reg key gets set the first time a user saves a template, but that means if you (IT) add the templates, you have to set the reg key. Whether the default personal template location is set to a path in File| Options also plays into it. Depending on those settings, you can also get a CUSTOM tab instead of PERSONAL. Here's the logic behind it. (Which is mind-bending, I know.) The reg key in question is Computer HKEY_USERS SOFTWA RE Microso ft Office 16.0 Power Point Opti ons Docume ntThemes. If this does not exist, or if the value is 0, the Custom tab won’t show up in the File| New UI. If the DocumentThemes reg key is not activated, and you do not set “Default personal template location,” then there is no CUSTOM or PERSONAL tab in File| New. If the DocumentThemes reg key is not activated, and you do set “Default personal template location” to a path, you will see the Personal tab in File| New. How does the file work on the iphone. Default personal templates location is located in PPT's File| Options| Save menu. You should have a path there by default that points to Documents Custom Office Templates. So you should see a PERSONAL tab by default since there's no reg key and since you should have that path in File| Options. If it's not appearing, try creating the reg key and setting it to 0 and making sure there's a path in the default personal template location. (Which you may also be able to set via reg key?) If the DocumentThemes reg key is activated, whether or not you set the “Default personal template location” path, you will see the CUSTOM tab in File| New. Personal (sometimes shown as Custom) templates are not stored in that location in PowerPoint 2016. Try saving them here:%userprofile% My Documents Custom Office Templates Or changing the location by setting it as follows: 1. Start PowerPoint 2. Click File 3. Click Options 4. Click the Save menu on the left o the window that appears 5. Set the Default personal templates location as required On a technical note, this action sets this key in the registry: HKEY_CURRENT_USER Software Microsoft Office 16.0 PowerPo int Option s Personal Templates Note: even though the Personal/Custom folder location has changed, the default template called blank.potx still resides in the folder you mentioned here:%appdata% Microsoft Templa tes and the Chart templates that are used by PowerPoint also remain here:%appdata% Microsoft Templa tes Charts.
